Biography
Daniele Gatti is one of the most important Italian conductors today.
Graduated in composition and orchestral conducting at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, Daniele Gatti is Musical Director of the Mozart Orchestra, Artistic Consultant of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Principal Conductor of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. He has been designated by the Dresden Staatskapelle as the next Chief Conductor starting in 2024.
His discography suggests a preference for symphonic music, with acclaimed recordings of the symphonies of Tchaikovsky and Mahler prominent on the list. For much of his career, he has had a balanced operatic and symphonic career, appearing regularly at major opera houses and conducting major orchestras around the world, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Daniele Gatti has recorded for several labels, including Harmonia Mundi, Conifer, RCA, and many others.
