The center is full of artistic masterpieces, small and large treasures from different eras, welcoming visitors and citizens in a refined atmosphere of a small capital. Music in the history of the city is richly known, especially for Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini.
The strong gastronomic tradition it offers: world-famous cured meats and cheeses, excellent fresh pasta first courses, was recognized in 2015 with the nomination of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Parma was the Italian Capital of Culture in 2020+21.

If you want to dedicate your discovery of the city to music, we recommend starting from the Teatro Regio, painted in Parma Yellow. The visit, available according to the rehearsal and staging calendar, will amaze with its anecdotes and curiosities.
In the beautiful Piazzale San Francesco there is the bronze statue of Giuseppe Verdi. Behind it is Palazzo Cusani with the Casa della Musica, which houses the L'opera on stage museum, dedicated to the musical theater of Parma. The palace is also the "den" of the Club dei 27, the 27 Verdi operas which aim to disseminate Giuseppe Verdi's work to all generations.
Near the square there is the deconsecrated Church of Santa Elisabetta, which has become the seat of the Casa del Suono, with a rich collection of communication and sound reproduction tools, from the phonograph to the MP3, represented by the collection of Don Giovanni Patanè. Both places are free to enter.
Breakfast in the hotel.
We recommend continuing the musical itinerary with Arturo Toscanini's birthplace, transformed into a museum in 1967 on the occasion of the centenary of his birth. The exhibition of documents follows a journey of memory through the long career of the conductor. Free entry.
Parma is the burial place of the composer and violinist Nicolò Paganini, Genoese by birth but resident for a long period in the Parma countryside. We recommend you visit the auditorium dedicated to him inside the former Eridania Park, renovated by the architect Renzo Piano, where various events take place, especially the concerts of the Arturo Toscanini Foundation.
Finally, the city of Music also boasts an excellent Conservatory, dedicated to Arrigo Boito, which offers many evenings of music with free admission with performances by students and teachers at the beautiful Auditorium del Carmine, created from an ancient deconsecrated church.
