Day 1 - Saturday May 11th 2024 –  arrival in Ravenna

Independent arrival at the hotel in Ravenna.

Accommodation in reserved rooms at Hotel NH Ravenna 4*.

The hotel is located 200 meters from the train station and near the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo. The rooms will be available in the early afternoon.

6.30 pm: Aperitif in a selected venue.

Bus transfer to the concert.

Day 2 - Sunday May 12th 2024 - Ravenna

Breakfast in the hotel.

9.30 am: Meeting with the guide at the hotel.
Departure on foot for a guided tour of the historic center of Ravenna.
The first stop of the day is a visit to the Monumental Complex including the majestic Basilica of San Vitale near Porta Adriana (6th century mosaics), and the nearby Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, with 5th century mosaics whose cobalt blue tiles embrace a dome of golden stars, Dante's Tomb.

Afternoon: Free time available for relaxation.

Dinner in a selected restaurant.
Overnight stay in hotel.

Ravenna city of mosaics

Ravenna is universally recognized as the city of mosaic, an art which finds its highest expression in its historic centre, with roots in ancient Rome. The city is home to a unique heritage of early Christian mosaics from the 5th and 6th centuries AD, preserved in seven of the eight UNESCO monuments, superior in quality and significance to any other world example, both Western and Eastern. These mosaics amaze with their aesthetic beauty and the depth of their religious, mystical and political meanings. Ravenna continues to pass down this artistic legacy through world-famous mosaic schools, such as the “Nervi Severini” Art School and the Academy of Fine Arts, which attract international students and artists. Furthermore, the artisan shops scattered throughout the historic center offer the opportunity to closely observe this ancient technique, keeping alive a tradition that defines the cultural identity of the city.

Day 3 - Sunday May 12th 2024 – Departure from Ravenna

09.30 am: Meeting with the guide at the hotel to continue the visit of the city. You will reach on foot the Arian Baptistery built at the end of the 5th century AD. when Arianism was the official religion of the court, then to the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo, the ancient palatine church of the Gothic King Theodoric.

Short transfer by coach (5 km) until you reach nearby Classe, where once stood the grandiose military and mercantile port that made Ravenna's real fortune, and where now remains the splendid Basilica dedicated to Saint Apollinaris, the first evangelizer of Ravenna and protagonist in the mosaic of the apse basin, of an extraordinary Epiphany, in direct competition with the Roman cult of Saint Peter. At the end of the visit to Classe, return to Ravenna for free lunch.

THE FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE:

• Tourist tax of €3.00 per person per night to be paid locally
• Trip to/from Ravenna
• Tips, extras and anything not expressly indicated under "The price includes"

• The organizer reserves the right to cancel the trip, NO LATER than 30 days before departure, if the minimum number of participants has not been reached. In this case, the amount paid would be refunded in full.
• The order of the visits can be changed for operational needs without however changing the contents

HOW TO BOOK:

The reservation becomes effective upon receipt of:
1. Travel contract that we will send you at the time of booking
2. Deposit required via bank transfer

ADVANCE PAYMENT:

Upon booking, a deposit of Euro 290.00 and any insurance premium for the "trip cancellation" policy are required.
Cancellation insurance can only be taken out when registering for the trip.

SALDO:

30 days before departure (by April 10, 2024)

CANCELLAZIONE

In the event of CANCELLATION by the customer, the following penalties will be applied, in addition to the insurance fee:

• 50% of the participation fee for cancellations by March 26, 2024
• 75% of the participation fee for cancellations by April 10, 2024
• 80% of the participation fee for cancellations by April 26, 2024
• from 27 April 2024 no refund in case of cancellation

It is possible to sign up for the "Trip Cancellation" policy at the same time as booking the trip (regulations will be sent upon request)

Silver MBA insurance and the amount per share in a double room and/or double room for single use is:

- €30.00 per person up to 74 years of age
It is possible to take out an additional policy which also covers cancellation in the event of previous illnesses (quotation on request).
